Why Surreal Art Still Feels So Human
Surreal art is more than strange images or dreamlike scenes. At its best, it gives shape to thoughts, tensions, humour, fears, and contradictions that are difficult to explain in ordinary language.
For me, surreal imagery is a way of making the unseen visible. A distorted face, an impossible object, or a figure placed in an unexpected world can sometimes say more than realism.

One of the reasons surreal art remains powerful is that it does not tell the viewer exactly what to think. It invites interpretation. A painting can feel personal to one person and completely different to another, depending on their own memories, anxieties, and imagination.That openness is important. In a world where so much visual material is designed to be consumed quickly, surreal art asks people to slow down. It creates a pause. It encourages the viewer to look twice.
